Black Walnut Event Venue was born from a simple idea shared by two lifelong friends—Brandon Chansler and Matt Suchy—who saw a need for a flexible, beautiful, and welcoming event space right here in Barton County, Kansas. On November 1, 2023, they broke ground on what would become more than just a venue—it became a place where memories are made.

From the beginning, the goal was clear: create a space where couples and families could celebrate freely, without restrictions or pressure. At Black Walnut, you have the freedom to choose your own vendors, bring your own alcohol, and decorate the space however you envision. We believe your big day should feel like your big day.

Our venue features 5,474 square feet of indoor space that can hold up to 320 guests, an elevated outdoor limestone stage for ceremonies, and a 3-bedroom, 2-bath farmhouse just steps away—perfect for your wedding party or weekend stay. The property also includes a furnished bar, partial commercial kitchen, fenced-in basketball court, games for kids, and wide-open skies that make for incredible photos and unforgettable moments.
